Tamar Honig

Tamar sources and conducts due diligence on private fund opportunities across asset classes, geographies, and sectors, including sustainable food and agriculture, renewable energy infrastructure, and circular economy solutions. Tamar has a special interest in supporting emerging and historically underrepresented fund managers.

Prior to joining Align in 2020, she was a Fellow at Kiva Microfunds in Mexico City. Her duties included developing a network of Latin American investors and growth-stage social enterprises to forge partnerships and source new impact investments. She also led due diligence, including financial statement analysis and impact underwriting for 18 businesses in eight countries applying for direct working capital loans. Previously, Tamar was a Venture Coordinator at Ashoka where she reviewed hundreds of applications and led due diligence on select candidates from Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean to the Ashoka Fellowship.

Tamar holds a BA from the University of Chicago.
